MySpace as a content-centric Facebook

Summary: The site is now focused exclusively on the 13 to 35-year-old demographic — Generation Y, in other words. Its new goal is to become “the leading entertainment destination that is socially powered by the passions of fans and curators.” This is in contrast to its old goal of being “a place for friends.” It reduces the amount of design bloat from 152 templates and 81 button styles to just seven templates and two buttons. And that’s only scratching the surface of the changes to the website, not to mention the new mobile experience that will launch next month.

My take: As european, I’ve never been very MySpace. I know it’s big in US and in many other countries and I believe this content-centric approach is interesting, so i’m curious to see how it’s going to evolve
