Google Broadband Gets Its First Trial

Intro: Google’s ultra high speed fiber network — which the company says can offer speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second — is about to get its first trial outside of the Googleplex.

My take: Control over connectivity is KEY for Google. If you look at DiCoDE, you’ll see that the only bit that is out of Google (but you might think Apple or Microsoft or Facebook too)’s control is the connectivity. That’s why they’re forced dealing with Carriers (and Google remembers it via their problems with NexusOne and Google TV). For the moment
