Washington Post Tells Journalists Not To Engage on Twitter

Intro: The Washington Post sent a memo to its staffers telling journalists not to answer critics from Post-branded Twitter accounts or to use their personal accounts to “speak on behalf of the Post.”

My Take: VERY interesting debate. Even if i agree on the fact that a media should not only respond but also trigger conversations, I’m not sure journalists having a long career in broadcasting messages are trained for that. So maybe this is not the best shot at communication-level, but it’s surely the right decision in order either to put community managers on the field or to train journalists to Social Media paradigms through a Social Media Policy
