Augmented Reality on the mobile – a legal minefield?

Intro: After all the excitement that we had in the second half of last year about this wonderful, new-fangled thing called augmented reality, it seemed as though we had a little period of retrenchment

My take: 2 important things Dr Windsor Holden highlights here

  1. AR as we saw it was just a creative fad, not taking into account many key elements (such as legal aspect as described here). Also, AR gave a lot of buzz to some companies without really having a decent business model
  2. Regulation is striking back! After having been overwhelmed by technology evolutions, regulation takes advantage of a calmer period in innovation (in techniques) to align and put back some order. Companies that wanna be credible and established on the marketplace should take this point very seriously
